Celebrating BCC’s 1st Baptism!

On Sunday, June 17, Burlington City Church celebrated its first baptism!  Following our 406 North Ave. Home Fellowship’s Sunday morning meeting we strolled down to Lake Champlain with onlookers from the sand and bike path (even got a standing ovation from two power walkers).  We are so excited about what God is doing in Maura’s life as a new follower of Jesus. World Refugee Day- being the church to our neighbors

This past Sunday our Burlington City Church Home Fellowships partnered with the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program for World Refugee Day.  Most Sundays we meet in homes for a focused time of worshiping together which usually includes singing, sharing stories of God’s activity, praying for each other, teaching from the scriptures, and often taking communion.  It’s still very easy to get in the mode of “going to church” Continue reading

Meet the Sutphens

God continues to amaze me with how He continues to send “workers for the harvest” to Burlington.  One of the most amazing stories is how He has sent a “home-town boy” back to Burlington.  Almost a year ago Robin Sutphen contacted me via this blog, and a little over a week ago he and his family moved into their apartment on North Champlain St. in Burlington as he takes on the role of general manager at the Boloco restaurant on Church St.   Here’s some of their story from Robin Continue reading
